The short version
- This site stores two small preferences in your browser: light or dark mode, and your cookie choice.
- Both are needed for the site to remember what you asked for, so they don't need your consent.
- There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
- If I ever add visit statistics, they will only switch on if you say yes.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser so it can remember things. Similar technology, called local storage, does the same job. UK law treats them the same way, so this page covers both.

"Strictly necessary" means the site needs it to do something you asked for. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) doesn't require consent for these, but I still tell you about them.
Analytics
Not currently used. If I add visit statistics in future, to see which pages are useful, I'll list them here and they'll stay switched off unless you choose to allow them.
3. Your choices
You can change your mind any time with the button above, or with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser's settings. The site will still work, it just won't remember your theme.
4. Other services
The heading font is delivered by Google Fonts. It doesn't set cookies, but like any web request it sees your browser's address. The quote assistant sends your answers to Formspree only when you finish it. See the privacy notice for details.
