The short version
- You get a fixed quote and a ceiling price before any work starts. You'll never pay more than the ceiling without agreeing first.
- Most jobs are paid when they're delivered and working. Bigger jobs are paid in stages.
- Once you've paid, what I built for you is yours.
- Fixes are included for 30 days on automations and 60 days on bigger builds.
- I handle any personal data in your files only as your processor, and delete it when the job ends.
These terms apply when you hire Ryan Williams, trading as betechnical ("I", "me"). "You" means the business or person hiring me.
1. About these terms
These terms, together with the quote I send you, make up our agreement. If the quote says something different from these terms, the quote wins. Nothing is agreed until you've accepted a quote in writing (an email saying yes is fine).
If you hired me through Fiverr, Fiverr's own terms also apply to that order.
2. Quotes and the ceiling price
- Every quote sets out what I'll build, the price, and a ceiling price: the most the job can cost.
- Most jobs cost the quoted price. If I find something hidden that makes the job bigger, I'll explain it before charging anything extra, and it will never go above the ceiling.
- If the job would go over the ceiling because of my own misjudgement, that's my cost, not yours.
- If you ask for something new that wasn't in the quote, I'll quote it separately first.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days.
- Ballpark prices shown on this website are rough guides only, not quotes.
VAT
I'm not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to my prices.
3. Paying
- Quick fixes and automations: paid on delivery, once you've seen it working.
- Bigger builds: split into stages, each paid when that stage is delivered and approved.
- Invoices are due within 14 days.
- If an invoice is very late, I may pause work until it's paid. Businesses may also be charged interest and costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, though I'd always talk to you first.
4. What you need to do
- Show me how the job works now (usually on a short video call), and answer questions in reasonable time.
- Keep a backup of your files before running anything new on them for the first time. It protects us both.
- Send the files the job needs, using a secure method we agree.
- Check the finished work and tell me within the fix period if something isn't right.
5. Who owns the work
Once you've paid in full, everything I made specifically for you (spreadsheets, automations, documents, code) belongs to you. You can use, change and share it however you like.
I keep ownership of my general know-how and any reusable building blocks I already had, but you get a permanent, free licence to use them as part of your work. I won't show your work to anyone else without your permission.
6. Fixes and support
- If something I built doesn't work as agreed, I'll fix it free within 30 days of delivery for automations, or 60 days for bigger builds.
- This doesn't cover problems caused by later changes to your files, other software, or the tools it runs in (for example, a supplier changing their system). I'm happy to quote for those.
- After the fix period, help is available at my normal rates.
7. Your data and confidentiality
When your files contain your customers' or staff's personal details, you remain the controller of that data, and I act as your processor. How I handle your data explains this in plain English.
When I handle personal data for your job
Whether on a screen share or in a file you send me, I will:
- only act on your instructions, and only for your job
- keep it secure and confidential, and only look at what the job needs
- not share it with anyone else
- never put it into AI tools
- delete it when the job ends (including any fix period), and confirm when I have
- help you if someone asks what data you hold about them
- tell you promptly if anything ever goes wrong with it
Anything you tell me about your business is kept confidential, during and after our work together.
8. AI tools
I use AI tools to help build things faster, following my AI policy. In short: AI tools never see your customers' or staff's personal details (only made-up practice data), and everything is checked and tested by me before you get it. If you'd rather I didn't use AI at all, tell me before we start and I'll adjust the quote if needed.
9. Changing or cancelling
- You can cancel at any time by telling me in writing. You'll pay for work already done, up to the ceiling price.
- If you're hiring me as a private individual rather than a business, you have 14 days after accepting a quote to cancel for any reason. If you ask me to start within those 14 days and then cancel, you'll pay for the work done so far.
- I can cancel if something outside my control makes the work impossible, or if invoices go unpaid. You'd pay only for completed work and get anything you've paid for.
10. Responsibility if something goes wrong
- I'll do the work with reasonable care and skill.
- My total responsibility under any job is limited to the amount you paid for that job.
- For business customers, I'm not responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data (which is why backups matter).
- Nothing here limits responsibility where the law doesn't allow it, such as for fraud, or for death or injury caused by negligence. If you're a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.
11. Using this website
The demos, calculators and ballpark prices on this site are illustrations to help you understand what's possible. They're not advice or a guarantee of results. Please don't copy the site's design or content without permission.
12. The legal bits
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK, you can also use your local courts.
- If one part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- I may update these terms. The version that applies is the one in place when you accepted your quote.
