The short version
- I only collect what you give me: your name, email and what you'd like help with.
- I use it to reply, quote and do the work. I never sell it or use it for advertising.
- The playground tools run in your browser. Nothing you type into them is sent anywhere.
- When I work on your files, I act as your data processor and only look at what the job needs.
- You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time.
1. Who I am
This website is run by Ryan Williams, trading as betechnical, based in the United Kingdom. For your personal information, I'm the "controller", which means I decide how it's used and I'm responsible for looking after it.

2. What I collect

The savings calculator, the pick-a-job demo, the email reader, the workflow builder and the sample spreadsheet all run entirely in your browser. Nothing you type or pick in them is sent to me unless you then send it through the quote assistant.
3. Why I use it, and the legal basis
Data protection law requires me to have a lawful reason for each use. Mine are:
- To reply to you and give you a quote: taking steps at your request before a contract.
- To do the work you've hired me for: performing our contract.
- To keep invoices and accounts: legal obligation (tax and accounting law).
- To follow up once on a quote you asked for, and keep simple records of enquiries: my legitimate interest in running the business, which I've balanced against yours. You can ask me to stop at any time.
I don't send marketing emails, and I don't use your information for automated decisions that affect you. The ballpark in the quote assistant is just a rough guide; your real quote always comes from me.
4. Who else sees it
I use a small number of trusted services to run the business. Each only gets what it needs to do its job.

*Where information goes outside the UK, it's protected by UK-approved safeguards such as the UK–US "data bridge" or standard contract terms.
I'll also share information if the law requires it, or with my accountant or legal adviser if needed. I never sell personal information.
5. How long I keep it
- Enquiries that don't go ahead: 12 months, then deleted.
- Client records and invoices: 6 years after our last job, as required for tax.
- Files for your job: deleted when the job ends (after any included fix period), unless you ask me to keep them.
6. Your business data
When your files contain your customers' or staff's personal details, you're the controller of that data and I act as your processor: I only use it on your instructions, for your job. How I handle your data explains this in full.
7. AI tools
I use AI tools to help build things, but never with your customers' or staff's personal details. They only ever see made-up practice data. Read exactly how I use AI.
8. Your rights
You can ask me to:
- send you a copy of the information I hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete it (unless I have to keep it by law, like invoices)
- stop or limit how I use it
- send your information to you or someone else in a usable format
- stop using it for something you object to

9. Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
10. Changes to this notice
If I change how I use your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant and I have your email, I'll let you know.
